The Tour de Fronds is completely volunteer run.  All proceeds are distributed to local service organizations that are dedicated to Powers community improvement.

In 2017, the Tour de Fronds distributed more than $5000 in proceeds.

Beneficiaries and projects for 2017 included:

Powers Lions Club 

Funds used to bring a mobile eye doctor to our elementary school to screen children and provide glasses

Pay for hearing aids for qualifying community members

Pay the administration fees for the Cub Scouts

Purchase community fireworks for our 4th of July White Cedar Days celebration

Helped with the purchase of a “Stair Chair” for the Powers ambulance

 

Powers Lioness

Helped with the purchase of a “Stair Chair” for the Powers ambulance

The Lioness have a “shoe fund” available through the Elementary School for children when such a need arises.

 

Powers Action Team and Ross Hall 

Purchase prizes for the White Cedar Days Kid’s Carnival

Purchase art materials for Ross Hall Kids’ After-School Art Program

Provides materials for Christmas Gift Wrap

Supports the Powers Town-wide Garage Sale

Funds have been used for various improvements to Ross Hall, a community building as well as building expenses

 

HAM Radio Club

A donation was given to the club to help with radio equipment.  These volunteers track the progress of every TdF rider and ensure quick communication in case of emergencies.

 

Powers Ambulance

A donation to help with the purchase of a “Stair Chair” for the Powers ambulance

  • Lions Club - funds used to bring the a mobile eye doctor to our elementary school to screen children and provide glasses, pay for Cub Scout administration fees, hearing aid purchases, purchase community fireworks for our 4th of July White Cedar Days celebration, and purchase the City of Powers Christmas lights.
  • Lioness Club - a community defibrillator was purchased which as already saved numerous lives.
  • HAM Radio Club - these volunteers track the progress of every TdF rider and ensure quick communication in case of emergencies.
  • Powers Cheerleaders - these young ladies (elementary grades) bring school spirit to Cruiser football, volleyball, and basketball games.

As you ride, thank a volunteer.  Without these dedicated people, the Tour would be unable to continue and unable to bring support to these community organizations.

Limited quantities of the Tour de Fronds Riding Jersey are available for Tour-day delivery.

Modeled after the climbing champion jerseys, the Tour de Fronds Riding Jersey celebrates the hills on the routes.

Last day to pre-order T-Shirts for Tour day delivery is May 25.  

Orders for later delivery will be taken on June 16.
